The logo of Kri Foundation has been designed from a calligraphic work that suggests the formation of the letter “kri” but resonates much deeper. It consists of two opposite strokes that come together to complete the letter. The visual in its fullness, represents open-mindedness and plurality.
The poet Rabindranath Tagore, Nobel laureate, identified democratic pluralism and an ecological culture as the distinctiveness of Indian civilization.
'Kri' is the Sanskrit root for the verb "to do". It is the single largest root word in this ancient language and has been selected by the Foundation as its name for it captures the Foundation's proactive and action oriented approach.
