Kri Foundation has worked extensively in the development sector and On development issues. It has been a pioneer in using arts for activism. It has thereby set an exam for other arts organisations to develop a social conscience and use their iconic status for the good of society and the empowerment of the underprivileged. The term Artivism was actually created keeping the spectrum of our activist work in mind.

Kri has worked in a range of contexts- jails, educational institutions, homeless shelters, women's organisations, police training centres, Govt child and wonen protection centres, state govt training institutions, art schools, university settings ...and tge list goes on and on, apart from the most prestigious performance venues and festival platforms.

Kri Foundation runs unique residency programmes encouraging artistes from around the world to visit India, stay with us, meet Indian artistes, lean about Indian arts and explore possibilities of collaborative work with them. Several successful collaborations and friendships have emerged out of this initiative.

Kri Foundation also encourages writing and research residencies and makes Kri's extensive Library on loan to us for this purpose. Jokingly this Library is known as Kri Vidya Kendra.

Kri has always believed in the capacity of young people and encourages long and short internships that help young people understand the arts and Social issues and become ready for their adult responsibilities. Some of the young interns are also trained to become peer trainers on adolescent issues especially drug Prevention, sexuality, lifeskills, how to resist peer pressure, violence and abuse and bullying and on effective citizenship. Many of our young interns trained for this get great placements with international NGOs and some of the best foreign Universities.

Kri has worked in heritage- tangible and intangible, material and performance heritage. From time to time it has curated imaginative heritage historical and architectural walks, linguistic immersions and focuses on fast disappearing vulnerable areas of specialised knowledge including textile art, fabric, costume and saree heritage.

Kri Foundation values knowledge. In fact one of the three verticals Kri works in other than the arts and social issues is knowledge creating and promotion. Towards this end it works annually with the Canadian Caravan of Joy to educate through fun activities, marginalised and at risk students in Delhi. It alsodoes focused work in main stream schools and facilitating platforms like Teach for Indianthrough in-person and zoom workshops and trainings.
